Leicestershire County Council’s Carlton Drive Short Breaks in Wigston is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team, delivering person-centred care and support to adults with learning disabilities, Autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments.

This permanent, 30-hour-per-week role requires flexibility to work a service rota including weekends and bank holidays between 7am and 10pm, with full training provided and a supportive team to mentor you.

Qualifikationen

• Demonstrate a commitment to providing high‑quality care and support which maximises independence, is anti‑discriminatory, and adheres to relevant regulations and procedures (Adult Safeguarding and Valuing People Now).
• Ability to use equipment to assist with moving and handling service users and to support people with complex needs and attend training courses.
• Effective communication skills, including engaging with service users who may use alternative communication methods (e.g., Makaton, picture boards, signs).
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, responding effectively to crisis situations.
• IT and written skills sufficient to write and maintain clear, concise records.
• Be responsive to meet the changing needs of a 24/7 service, including flexible working and attending meetings or training outside normal hours.
