Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting a 30-hour-per-week Support Worker for The Trees within Hinckley Short Breaks and Supported Living Services. You will provide person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments in a supported living setting.

Flexibility to cover weekends and bank holidays is required. We offer training, mentoring, and opportunities to progress within a large public sector organisation, along with the Local

Qualifications

• Commitment to providing high-quality care and maximising independence.
• Ability to use equipment to assist with moving and handling service users.
• Excellent communication, including alternative methods (e.g., Makaton, signs).
• Good organisational skills; manage workloads and remain calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends/bank holidays; attend training.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day support to adults with disabilities in a supported living environment.
• Provide assistance with personal care and promote choice and independence.
• Maintain clear, concise records.
• Work as part of a team and respond effectively to crisis situations.
• Attend training and meetings outside of normal hours if required.
