Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Respiratory Outpatient Clinic Coordinator at Band 3 to join the Respiratory Outpatients team in Bristol. The post-holder will ensure timely and efficient patient appointments and act as a primary contact for queries related to first appointments in the Respiratory department.

They will manage referrals via the referral system and oversee patient pathways, contributing to high-quality patient care within a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Clerical/administrative experience, including filing and reception.
• Experience dealing with the public by phone and in person.
• Experience using a Patient Administration System (PAS).

Responsibilities

• Support triaging referrals by liaising with clinical staff.
• Manage patient communications via telephone and Trust systems to create letters, emails and texts.
• Act as a point of contact for queries from clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Liaise with clinical and non-clinical teams across the Trust via phone and email.
• Escalate patient queries, capacity problems and general issues to line manager or clinical staff.
• Communicate changes to clinics and appointments to patients, often on short notice.
• Demonstrate a caring and professional approach towards patients, relatives and carers.
