We are looking for a new enthusiastic, innovative candidate who would fit into this highly motivated team. You will be joining an exciting, well established, experienced Respiratory Nurse Specialist Team of 3 whole time equivalents that benefits from superb clinical and managerial leadership, from the wider Respiratory team.
This post is for maternity cover for 12 months.
You will be part of a dynamic, hardworking clinical team that works together to provide Respiratory nursing support to patients with a wide range of respiratory disease. You will provide vital support to these patients, their carers and families; with close links to our Community Partners, you will also be made to feel valued as you are developed to your full potential by this Trust.
The department is looking to introduce new disease specific multidisciplinary clinics like Asthma, Bronchiectasis and interstitial lung disease. The successful candidate will be part of the nursing team that delivers this service.
You will ideally have experience as a Respiratory Nurse Specialist and be able to demonstrate commitment to further education, ideally clinical examination, diagnostics at Masters Level and non-medical prescribing, or be working towards these qualifications.
The JD & PS are currently under AfC review and are subject to change.
To work within a multi-disciplinary team and deliver high quality specialist Respiratory care to a broad spectrum of patients living with chronic lung disease, within both the inpatient and outpatient setting. The post holder will be expected to advise primary and secondary care clinicians as appropriate about the setting up, implementation, delivery and evaluation of patient care utilising evidence based practice. In addition, the post holder will be expected to provide a service in accordance with national, regional and local guidance, standards and protocols and policies to ensure the most positive outcome for the patients are achieved.
The post holder will abide by legal requirements and statutory rules relating to practice and promote and maintain standards of professional practice in accordance with The Nursing and Midwifery Councils (NMC) Code and Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice.
Key relationships include, Matron, Director of Nursing, Heads of Quality, Directorate Manager, Consultants and Junior Medical Staff, Nursing Staff, Allied Health Professionals, Administrative and Clerical Support Staff, Professional and Technical Staff.
