Job description

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a children's registered manager to join the team at Conwy Council on a full-time, temporary basis. One of the key objectives is to create a home environment that exceeds the needs of children and young people, enabling them to thrive and develop while living there. Duties of the role will include:

1. Overall Management: Responsible for the overall management and smooth operation of the residential children's home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, organisational policies, and best practices.
2. Staff Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of residential support workers, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and equipped to provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
3. Care Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement individual care plans for each child or young person, in consultation with social workers, parents, and guardians. Ensure care plans are regularly reviewed and updated.
4. Safeguarding and Child Protection: Maintain a safe environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures. Address safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately.

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Enhanced DBS
2. Experience in a similar role
3. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services, or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it
4. At least 5 years of experience working with children in residential care, including one year as a registered manager
5. Registration with Social Care Wales
6. Full UK Driving Licence
