Job summary

Vistry Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for our Basingstoke team. You will manage all costs across projects, with a focus on minimising costs and maximising value for money while maintaining standards.

The role includes procurement, subcontract management, contract administration, monthly payments and final accounts. The package offers a competitive salary, annual bonus, car or travel allowance, generous leave, and benefits.

Qualifications

• HNC in Surveying or Construction or equivalent.
• HND or higher qualification desirable.
• Professional membership of MCIOB or RICS preferable or working towards such qualification.

Responsibilities

• Attend design meetings to advise on cost implications across departments.
• Attend development pre-start and subcontract package review meetings.
• Check contract drawings for errors, omissions, and cost risks.
• Prepare tender lists and assist with procurement programmes.
• Prepare cost analyses from quotations and tender data.
• Collaborate with Construction Director on prelim budgets and start-on-site costs.
• Coordinate budget settlement meetings with the Commercial team.
• Prepare and manage stage payment schedules for on-site financing.
• Place subcontractor orders and negotiate within budget.
• Issue variation orders and provide cost advice for major variations.
