Job summary

Northeastern University London is seeking a Community Supervisor to support 1000+ students on campus. The role oversees a team of 5–7 Community Coordinators, manages residential programs, and ensures student safety and engagement in alignment with university goals.

The position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in higher education or a related field, 3–5 years in student services, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Higher Education, Student Development, or related).
• 3–5 years in student services or higher education in residence life or student affairs, including live‑in staff experience.
• Experience with supervision, leading teams and managing diverse staff.
• Experience with crisis management, mediation, and conflict resolution.
• Flexibility to work in fast‑paced environments and manage shifting hours.
• Strong ability to communicate across diverse groups and stakeholders.
• Proven judgment under challenging conditions while achieving program goals.
• Experience handling sensitive information under GDPR and FERPA.
• Budget reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate a team of 5–7 Community Coordinators; facilitate meetings and provide coaching.
• Develop vibrant residential communities and oversee community programming and budgets.
• Engage in crisis intervention, mediation, and managing safety and security concerns.
• Coordinate with third‑party accommodation providers and track issue resolutions.
• Provide strategic leadership in assigned functional area and align with departmental goals.
• Attend meetings to support Residence Services and university initiatives.
