Job summary

Care South in Bournemouth is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and deliver an ongoing programme of social activities for residents, including those living with dementia.

You will support wellbeing and enjoyment through a varied calendar, encourage independence, assist during mealtimes, and build genuine relationships with residents. Flexible hours are available, with part-time and full-time options; you will join a friendly team dedicated to compassionate, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and a warm, friendly approach.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and multi-task activities.
• Ability to engage and connect with residents of varying ages and needs.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of a varied programme of social and therapeutic activities.
• Plan and run a calendar of events to promote wellbeing and enjoyment.
• Observe residents’ needs and assist care staff as appropriate.
• Assist during mealtimes to create a sociable dining experience.
• Encourage independence and active participation in daily life.
