Job summary

Darnford Rose Care Home is seeking an Activities Coordinator to lead a varied programme of meaningful activities for residents, promoting wellbeing and social engagement. You will plan events, group sessions and one-to-one activities, tailoring them to individuals’ interests and cultural backgrounds.

This role emphasizes creativity, compassion and strong communication, with duties including records, newsletters and links with families and the local community.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and delivering activities.
• Experience with older people in care settings is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents, families and colleagues.
• Familiarity with person-centred care and promoting independence.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and deliver a varied programme of meaningful activities for residents.
• Create group and one-to-one activities that promote wellbeing.
• Tailor activities to residents' interests and backgrounds.
• Encourage activity and social engagement.
• Organise celebrations, events, outings and community links.
• Build relationships with residents, families, volunteers and local groups.
• Support residents with dementia through person-centred activities.
• Maintain accurate records of activities and participation.
• Contribute to home communications and social media content.
• Collaborate with the Home Manager to improve the activities programme.
• Ensure activities are delivered safely per Health & Safety guidance.
