Job summary

Nurse Seekers is seeking an Activities Co-ordinator for a luxury retirement home in Worthing, West Sussex. You will plan and deliver a varied programme of meaningful activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities and needs, including those living with dementia, to promote independence and social engagement.

This is a hands-on, creative role requiring empathy, patience and excellent communication to work with residents, families and the care team to support wellbeing and a fulfilling

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Activities Co-ordinator is desirable.
• Genuine passion for working with older people and supporting wellbeing.
• Creative, enthusiastic and able to generate engaging activity ideas.
• Experience working with dementia or cognitive conditions is advantageous.
• Friendly, patient and compassionate with excellent communication skills.
• Well organised with ability to plan and coordinate a varied activities programme.
• Confident working independently and as part of a care team.
• Able to encourage participation while respecting each resident's individual choices and preferences.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a varied programme of meaningful activities for residents.
• Develop activities around residents' interests, hobbies, abilities and preferences.
• Organise group and one-to-one activities to encourage social interaction and engagement.
• Support residents to maintain existing hobbies and interests while introducing new activities.
• Organise activities including arts and crafts, music, games, reminiscence, gardening, exercise and social events.
• Encourage residents to participate while respecting their individual choices and independence.
• Support special occasions, celebrations, outings and community activities where appropriate.
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families.
• Work closely with the care team to ensure activities support residents' individual care and wellbeing needs.
• Maintain records of activities and resident participation where required.
