Cheshire West & Chester Council’s Refugee & Asylum Seeker (RAS) team oversees refugee resettlement schemes in the borough, including the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, Afghan Resettlement Schemes, and Asylum Seeker Dispersal. The team supports refugee and asylum seeker integration, aligning with the Council of Sanctuary accreditation, and aims to assist households and individuals in achieving positive outcomes and preventing homelessness.
The Resettlement Support Officer will develop individual support plans for households or families, providing advice, support, and signposting to help resettled refugees and asylum seekers with complex needs adjust to life in the UK. The role involves promoting community links and integration, working within a multi-agency framework, and ensuring effective communication with colleagues, professionals, and clients. A good understanding of immigration issues and experience in delivering housing advice and support to vulnerable people are essential.
Preferred candidates will have experience supporting and assessing vulnerable people, and working with asylum seekers and refugees.
