Job summary

Mears Group PLC is recruiting a Planner in Tonbridge to join the local repairs team. You will schedule repairs, allocate work to operatives, and ensure timely completion with high standards, acting as the main contact between residents, operatives, subcontractors and colleagues.

The role emphasizes efficient planning, proactive communication, and adherence to health and safety policies in a busy repairs environment. Full-time, permanent position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning, scheduling or coordination in repairs and maintenance or similar.
• Strong English and maths basic qualifications (GCSEs).
• Able to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Proficient IT skills for job management, scheduling and appointments.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and plan repair works to use operatives and resources efficiently.
• Use the MCM system to manage appointments, update job statuses and monitor progress.
• Track overdue tasks and support the team in meeting KPIs.
• Coordinate operatives and subcontractors to ensure on-time jobs and proper equipment.
• Communicate with residents to provide updates and manage expectations.
• Identify and escalate operational issues to support the repairs team.
• Monitor workloads and plan cover for absences and holidays.
• Allocate work to subcontractors and raise material orders per procurement rules.
• Maintain accurate records across systems and use IT tools correctly.
• Deliver a professional, courteous, customer-focused service.
