About The Role

Are you a natural leader with a passion for delivering high-quality housing repairs and maintenance services? We're looking for a dynamic Repairs Manager to lead our internal maintenance service (IMS) team. You'll be at the forefront of delivering responsive repairs/empty homes refurbishments/component installations, and compliance works across a defined geographical area. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll ensure excellent service delivery, customer satisfaction, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of multi-skilled tradespeople, ensuring high standards of work and customer service.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations including repairs, voids, compliance, and minor projects.
  • Drive performance through coaching, mentoring, and regular 1:1s, team meetings, and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance across all activities, maintaining a safe environment for staff and customers.
  • Manage resources and scheduling, working closely with planners and admin teams to optimise efficiency.
  • Handle escalated issues and complaints, acting as the technical lead and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and compliance with service standards.
  • Support continuous improvement, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.

About The Candidate

To be considered for the role of Repairs Manager you will have the skills and experience required for a level 2 role (please see our candidate information pack) and the following role specific experience:

  • Strong knowledge of housing repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment.
  • Proven experience in leading teams within the construction or maintenance sector.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience managing health and safety across multiple projects and teams.
  • Confidence using mobile technology and adapting to different customer groups.
  • Essential qualifications:
    • Health and Safety training - CITB, SSSTS, SMSTS, IOSH or equivalent.
    • Full valid UK, manual driving licence.
  • Desirable: Apprenticeship or Supervisor / Team Leader qualification.
