Job summary

  • Willingness to work towards SMSTS and/or IOSH qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of the reactive repairs service across MHA’s homes.
  • Lead, motivate and manage multi-disciplinary trade teams and external contractors.
  • Set, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators to drive service improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, including risk assessments.
  • Manage contracts to deliver value for money and service quality.

Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Repairs Manager to lead our Reactive Repairs Service. You will be responsible for managing a team of directly employed trade staff and external contractors to deliver a high‑quality, timely and value‑for‑money repairs service to our contract holders.

You will play a key role in ensuring performance standards are met, health and safety compliance is maintained, and customer satisfaction remains at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of the reactive repairs service across MHA’s homes
  • Lead, motivate and manage multi‑disciplinary trade teams and external contractors
  • Set, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators to drive service improvement
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, including risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Manage contracts to deliver value for money and service quality
  • Contribute to budget management and cost control
  • Support the wider Repairs and Voids service as required
  • Promote tenant engagement and contribute to MHA’s ‘Rent First’ culture
About You

You will have significant experience managing a reactive repairs service within a housing or similar environment and a strong understanding of housing maintenance, compliance and health & safety.

Essential Requirements

Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience

  • In‑depth knowledge of housing maintenance and compliance
  • Experience managing trade teams and contractors
  • Experience setting and monitoring performance targets
  • Understanding of Fitness for Human Habitation and housing hazards

SMSTS and/or IOSH qualification (or willingness to work towards)

Ability to speak and write in Welsh
