Job summary

WPS in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Repairs Manager to lead a multi-trade repairs team and drive high-quality service delivery for customers and communities.

You will oversee Supervisors, Administrators, Planners and Operatives, manage large maintenance contracts, ensure health & safety compliance and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Repairs Manager or similar in responsive maintenance or social housing.
  • Strong knowledge of reactive maintenance operations.
  • Experience managing large maintenance contracts.
  • Experience leading large operational teams and supply chain partners.
  • Excellent Health & Safety understanding.
  • Commercial awareness with budgets and performance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Highly organised, customer-focused and results-driven.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Work closely with Commercial teams to identify and resolve invoicing issues and maximise contract performance.
  • Champion Health & Safety compliance and create a positive safety culture.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Repairs Manager role or a similar management position within responsive maintenance, repairs or social housing
  • Strong knowledge of reactive maintenance operations
  • Proven track record of managing large maintenance contracts
  • Experience leading large operational teams and supply chain partners
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and performance
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • Highly organised, customer-focused and results-driven
  • Full UK Driving Licence
