Job summary

The postholder will supervise tradespersons, contractors and support staff to ensure repairs, maintenance, compliance and planned works are delivered efficiently, safely and in accordance with relevant legislation, Council policies and service standards

The postholder will also support contract management and drive performance within the repairs service in a local authority setting, with a 3-month contract duration and 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction, property maintenance, or building-related services.
• Experience supervising or coordinating operational activities and resources.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in maintenance and construction.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the operational delivery of the Council's Repairs and Maintenance Service.
• Establish work priorities, allocate resources, and schedule maintenance tasks.
• Oversee and coordinate tradespersons and contractors to ensure repairs meet efficiency and quality standards.
• Monitor quality, productivity, and performance across service areas.
• Ensure precise accounting of labor, materials, and resources.
• Perform regular audits of van stock and maintain accurate records.
