Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a 5-6 month contract role with a local authority in Loughborough to lead a high-quality repairs service. The postholder will drive performance, maximise productivity of internal teams and contractors, and continuously improve service delivery to achieve strong customer satisfaction.

Working hours are 37 per week, with a rate of £35 per hour umbrella for eligible candidates, and a mix of office and onsite duties at the Council Offices, Leicestershire.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing property repairs or maintenance services.
• Strong knowledge of repairs programs and operational delivery.
• Experience leading teams and driving performance, motivation, and engagement.
• Ability to manage budgets, contractors, and in-house resources effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead the responsive repairs service with in-house and external contractors.
• Oversee repairs processes from identification to completion.
• Manage disrepair cases and customer complaints.
• Collaborate with housing services teams.
• Ensure health and safety legislation, regulatory standards, and local policies are met.
• Lead, motivate and develop teams to achieve high performance.
• Monitor staff, contractors and service delivery against KPIs.
