Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is recruiting a Repairs Officer to oversee responsive repairs and maintenance across the housing portfolio. You will supervise trades operatives and contractors, perform pre and post inspections, and ensure works meet safety and compliance standards.

The role focuses on managing performance, maintaining compliance, and delivering excellent customer service within a 3-month initial contract, 37 hours per week, Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience in repairs, maintenance, housing or construction services.
• Knowledge of responsive repairs, void management and contractor supervision.
• Understanding of health, safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing operational teams and workloads.
• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an experienced Repairs Officer to support the delivery of a responsive repairs and maintenance service across its housing portfolio.

Working within the Repairs & Maintenance Team, you will oversee day-to-day repairs operations, supervise trades operatives and contractors, carry out pre and post inspections, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with statutory requirements. You will play a key role in managing performance, maintaining compliance, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage responsive repairs, voids, planned maintenance, and compliance-related works.
• Supervise in-house trades teams and external contractors.
• Undertake pre and post inspections and maintain accurate records.
