Job summary

SSE plc is recruiting an Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of major renewable energy projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe. You will contribute from early-stage electrical design through to substations and grid connection, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient delivery.

You will work with a team of engineers across development and construction phases, travel to project locations as needed, and progress toward Chartered Engineer status

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status or professional registration.
• Experience in renewable energy or electrical infrastructure.
• Understanding of standards, legislation and best practices for electrical design.
• Willingness to travel to project locations and hold a UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical engineering design activities for substations and electrical balance of plant packages.
• Prepare and update technical documentation for substations and wind turbines.
• Participate in FATs and SATs for major electrical systems.
• Coordinate engineering activities with project teams, contractors and suppliers.
• Contribute to engineering best practice and continuous improvement.
