Job summary

SSE plc is seeking an Operational Electrical Engineer to join the Onshore Wind, Solar & Battery Electrical Engineering team in Central/Southern Scotland. You will maintain asset integrity across wind, solar and BESS sites and provide technical support to Operations, Maintenance and project teams.

Qualifications

Minimum HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of electrical equipment, protection systems, HV switchgear and transformers.
Experience managing projects and contractors with delivery tracking.
Willingness to travel across the UK & Ireland.
Driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

Provide operational safety from system up to 275kV, maintenance, fault response, refurbishment and commissioning.
Lead outage planning and delivery, monitor plant health and performance, investigations and future maintenance strategies.
Manage engineering projects, asset improvements and design enhancements for wind, solar and battery projects.
Manage contractors and service providers, including scope, evaluations, planning and safety/quality monitoring.
Provide technical support to Operations, contribute to budget and engage in stakeholder discussions.
