Job summary

SSE Renewables is hiring an Electrical Engineer to join our team delivering major renewable energy projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe. The role involves electrical design from substations to wind turbines, with opportunities to contribute to grid connection studies and commissioning activities.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient delivery and high technical standards, while pursuing professional registration and expanding your experience across onshore

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status or professional registration.
• Experience in renewable energy or related electrical infrastructure beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of electrical engineering design activities for substations and electrical balance of plant packages.
• Prepare and update technical documentation for substations and wind turbines to meet safety and quality standards.
• Participate in FATs and SATs to verify and commission electrical systems across projects.
• Coordinate engineering activities with project teams, contractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Contribute to engineering best practice and continuous improvement within the team.
