Job summary

Siemens Energy Limited in the UK Grid Technologies unit seeks a Senior Principal Engineer to lead a team delivering primary electrical designs for UK transmission substations, with emphasis on enabling renewable connections.

You will own design reviews, coordinate with clients and project teams, ensure safety, quality and budget compliance, and mentor engineers while reporting to the Head of Primary Engineering.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering.
• Extensive primary engineering design experience in Electricity Transmission/Distribution, with UK lead design exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to deliver primary engineering designs for UK substations.
• Hold technical responsibility for primary design and approve outputs within the department.
• Coordinate with clients, civil teams, project management and interfaces to meet delivery timescales and budget.
• Ensure design risk assessments/HAZIDs are in place and residual risks are captured in H&S files.
• Chair design reviews to ensure consistency with specifications and processes.
