Job summary

SSE Renewables is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Team, delivering major onshore and offshore wind projects across the UK and Europe. You will shape electrical designs, lead substations work and ensure grid connection readiness throughout development and construction phases.

With a breadth of responsibilities from design to commissioning, you will drive innovation, optimise asset performance and work across multidisciplinary teams while travelling to

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering and Chartered Engineer status (or progress toward chartership).
• Experience in substation layout design, primary plant specs, testing up to 400kV.
• Knowledge of substations, wind farm components and grid connection.
• Understanding of engineering standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical engineering design activities and manage substation/electrical balance of plant specs and works information.
• Prepare and update technical specs for substations and wind turbines; ensure compliance via reviews.
• Support FATs/SATs for major electrical components and systems across onshore/offshore projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and supply chain to coordinate activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and engineering best practices within the function.
