Job summary

SSE Renewables is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of major renewable energy projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe. You’ll work from a base in one of several locations, contributing to substations, wind turbines, and grid connection studies, while meeting safety and quality standards.

You will join a team of engineers, collaborating with contractors and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.

Qualifications

• This role requires an Electrical Engineering degree with professional experience in renewable energy projects.
• Experience in substations, primary plant, electrical or protection systems is preferred.
• Good understanding of electrical infrastructure standards and safe design practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of electrical engineering design activities for substations and electrical balance of plant.
• Prepare and review technical documentation for substations and wind turbines, ensuring compliance.
• Participate in FATs/SATs and coordinate with project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to drive project delivery and innovation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across the Electrical Engineering function.
