SSE Renewables is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Team, delivering design and construction support for large onshore and offshore wind projects across the UK and Europe.
You will help shape electrical systems from early development through substations, grid connections, turbines, and protection schemes, with travel to project locations as required. A Chartered Engineer status or progress toward it is expected, along with strong HV experience.
You’ll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations; Aberdeen, Perth, Glasgow, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Dublin, Belfast or other SSER locations can be considered.
£59,800-£89,800/€76,100-€114,100 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

SSE Renewables has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Team, supporting the delivery of some of the largest and most ambitious onshore and offshore wind projects across the UK and Europe.
As a key member of the team, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and delivering major renewable generation projects across both development and construction phases. Working at the forefront of the energy transition, you’ll be responsible for electrical engineering deliverables spanning the full project lifecycle — from early-stage electrical system design through to offshore and onshore substations, grid connection infrastructure, wind turbines, power system studies and support in grid compliance process.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a portfolio of industry-leading onshore and offshore wind development, helping drive innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence across our growing portfolio.
You’ll also champion value and innovation within the team, identifying and implementing new technologies, engineering solutions, and best practices that improve asset performance, optimise project delivery, and reduce lifecycle costs.
