Job summary

SSE Renewables is seeking an Operations Systems Engineer to join one of the UK's leading renewable energy portfolios. The role sits at the heart of our 24/7 operations, configuring and commissioning assets into SSE Renewables' centralised control systems to maximise performance and value.

You will collaborate with OT, IT and Telecoms to deliver security, resilience and efficiency improvements, while identifying better ways of working and documenting testing activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, IT or related discipline with understanding of power generation or critical infrastructure.
• Experience with SCADA or control room systems.
• Knowledge of Grid Codes, HV safety rules and Safe Systems of Work.
• Experience evaluating business requirements and delivering practical, innovative solutions.
• Strong analytical, technical and communication skills across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Own configuration, testing and commissioning of assets into centralised control systems and platforms.
• Develop and deliver system enhancements with OT, IT and Telecoms teams.
• Create and implement processes and system improvements to increase efficiency.
• Design, execute and document testing activities for IT/OT systems.
• Provide first-line support for operational systems and troubleshoot issues.
