Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a highly skilled z/OS Mainframe Storage Engineer to join our remote UK/Europe team. You will manage, support, and optimize IBM z/OS storage infrastructure, including disk, tape, backup, DR, capacity planning and replication.

Ideal candidates will have deep IBM mainframe storage expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across infrastructure, operations, and application support teams in a complex enterprise. Remote work options available.

Qualifications

8–15+ years in mainframe infrastructure and z/OS storage.
Hands-on experience with IBM DS8000 storage, virtual tape systems, and DR.
Experience with capacity planning, backup/recovery, replication, and enterprise DR.
Knowledge of z/OS components (JCL, SMP/E, z/OSMF) and storage networking.

Responsibilities

Manage mainframe disk and storage administration, provisioning and support.
Perform daily operations: health checks, incident management, monitoring.
Plan storage capacity expansions and infrastructure changes.
Configure resources for databases, VSAM files, work datasets, and sort spaces.
Collaborate with systems programming, network, DB and app teams to ensure service delivery.
Automate storage administration and monitoring tasks.
