Job summary

A leading bank is seeking an IBM Z Storage Manager to manage its z/OS storage environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mainframe storage management, strong project management skills, and the ability to work in a complex enterprise IT environment. The role is based in Sheffield, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days remote work. This is a contract position, and sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IBM zStorage management and mainframe environments.
• Experience managing z/OS storage environments and working with large-scale infrastructure.
• Strong project management skills and experience in enterprise IT environments.
• Strong technical project management skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage IBM z/OS storage environment and associated hardware.
• Lead or support large infrastructure deployment projects.
• Work with vendors and partners for effective management.
• Work with Agile practices and tooling to deliver storage-related initiatives.

A leading bank is looking for a IBM Z Storage Manager to help manage their z/OS storage environment.

Require Skills (Non-negtoiable):

• Mainframe Storage Management
• z/OS

Desired Skills:

• IBM zSeries Storage Management skills
• Strong Technical Project management skills
• Experience of working in a large enterprise of similar scale and complexity
• Working and partnering with vendors (e.g. IBM, DELL, Broadcom)
• Supporting and / or leading technical management of large infrastructure deployment projects
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise IT environment and the embedded controls within change, incident, and problem management processes
• Experience working with Agile working practices and tooling
• Experience and awareness of security, audit, risk and compliance within enterprise IT environment

Hardware Technical Skills:

• IBM DS8K disk hardware installation design, upgrade and support skills including DSCLI scripting and familiarity with HMC GUI
• DELL DLM virtual tape (VTE with Data Domain) hardware installation design, upgrade and support skills with knowledge of GUI, NFS and Linux
• Broadcom (Brocade) DCX hardware skills and FICON / FIBRE concepts and configuration. Set-up and utilising SanNav and Maps

Software Technical Skills:

• IBM core knowledge: z/OS, TSO, SDSF, JCL, IDCAMS, IWS
• IBM storage knowledge: DFHSM, DFDSS, ICKDSF, DFSMS (inc OAM), TDMF, GDPS, CSM - Broadcom (CA): CA1, CA Vantage, CA Disk, CA Allocate, CA View, Endeavor
• Dino Software: T-rex, Terradon
• Rocket: CR+
• Interchip: RTD

Based in Sheffield office - 3 days per week in office, 2 days work from home
