Job summary
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Principal Design Assurance Engineer to provide independent technical assurance across major UK transmission and distribution projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant and buildable solutions, aligned with client requirements and governance across National Grid programs.

Qualifications
- Strong communication and leadership abilities within complex power projects.
- Experience in UK Electricity Transmission/Distribution sector and National Grid governance.
- Authorisation as National Grid Design Assurance Engineer (BP141) and/or CDAE background is valued.
- Proven track record leading engineering reviews, governance panels or technical assurance activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent technical assurance across the project lifecycle.
- Lead design reviews and governance activities, ensuring safety, compliance and buildability.
- Ensure interfaces are coordinated and meet safety, asset management and performance requirements.
- Engage with National Grid, DNOs, EPC contractors and project stakeholders.
