Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is actively seeking a senior LCDAE to lead complex Transmission and Distribution design assurance across UK projects. The role demands formal approvals, rigorous reviews, and leadership of multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compliant outcomes.

The candidate will mentor engineers, liaise with clients and asset owners, and uphold National Grid procedures and company standards while driving continuous improvement in design processes.

Qualifications

• You will be recognised as LCDAE with authority on complex Transmission and Distribution projects.
• Ability to provide formal approvals, challenge constructively and lead technical directions.
• Experience in design review, risk assessment and technical submissions.

Responsibilities

• Act as LCDAE for allocated projects and ensure designs comply with National Grid procedures and AtkinsRéalis standards.
• Lead or contribute to design reviews, hazard reviews and validation meetings.
• Review and approve calculations, drawings, specs and design risk assessments.
• Identify and mitigate design risks per CDM Regulations and safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and asset owners to resolve technical issues and support design acceptance.
• Provide clear technical direction and close out comments before release or construction.
