Job summary

AtkinsRéalis's Power Energy Systems (PES) practice in the UK seeks an Associate Director to lead civil/structural design across transmission and distribution projects. You will provide senior technical leadership, drive multidisciplinary delivery, and support growth while ensuring safe, compliant outcomes.

Key responsibilities include governance-driven design delivery, client relationship management, and mentoring to develop UK PES capability. You will travel to client sites as required.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in civil/structural engineering with advanced degree preferred.
• Chartered Engineer status mandatory; ICE or IStructE membership required.
• Proven experience leading front-end to detailed design for EHV substations or OHL projects, 33 kV–400 kV.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership and design assurance for civil and structural engineering in T&D.
• Lead complex design delivery with governance, quality and safety focus.
• Develop people, capability and client engagements within the UK PES practice.
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and delivery partners.
