Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Monte Carlo methods developer to join our Radiation Transport and Reactor Physics team. You will contribute to code development, maintain/simulate complex models and deliver technical training to a specialist audience.

Based in the UK, the role offers hybrid working, potential travel to client sites and conferences, and opportunities to work on nuclear, medical and space shielding applications across international teams.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree in mathematics, physics or engineering.
• Experience in the application of Monte Carlo methods to modelling radiation transport.
• Programming in languages such as Fortran, Python or Java.
• Strong problem-solving and independent working skills.

Responsibilities

• Code developer of radiation transport and reactor physics codes.
• Development of underpinning mathematical and physical theories in our codes.
• Complex radiation transport analysis.
• Delivering technical training courses to a specialist audience.
• Interfacing closely with the international academic research community.
• Generating new business through interaction with international commercial customers.
