Job summary

Imperial College London’s Applied Modelling & Computation Group (AMCG) invites applications for a Research Associate in Applied Nuclear Computation. You will apply advanced numerical, physics-based and data-driven methods to two cutting-edge nuclear projects, including a digital engineering platform for thorium reactor design and a UKRI-backed HTGR ecosystem.

The role is full-time (35 hours/week), fixed-term up to 33 months.

Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent experience) in a closely related computational discipline.
• Strong programming ability for scientific computing.
• Experience with reactor physics methods and tools is desirable.
• Proven track record of research output and communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply advanced computational and physics-based methods for two nuclear projects.
• Plan and execute your own scientific work and contribute to research aims.
• Prepare reports, publish in journals, and present findings at conferences.
