Amentum is seeking a Safety Case Engineer to join our UK team working on major nuclear programs. The role focuses on delivering safe operation demonstrations, producing safety case documents, and leading HAZID/HAZOP studies across the nuclear lifecycle.

You will collaborate with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams, mentoring junior staff and promoting best practices while supporting diverse, flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Chartered or working toward Chartered/ Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
• Proven experience in safety case management in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of nuclear plant systems, structures, and design guidelines.
• Experience delivering project tasks against relevant standards and best practices.
• Strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Deliver high quality technical work to demonstrate safe operation and regulatory compliance.
• Write and review safety assessments and safety case documents.
• Lead HAZID/HAZOP studies.
• Produce and check technical calculations and reports.
• Develop clear, logical, and well-structured technical arguments and justifications.
• Liaise with clients to understand challenges and develop solutions.
• Represent the business in technical meetings with clients, regulators and third parties.
• Mentor junior team members and share best practices across projects.
