Job summary

Join M-KOPA as Lead People Partner for our Technology organisation. You’ll partner directly with engineering, data, analytics, IT and security leaders to shape the people strategy and organisation design for a globally distributed engineering population across Africa, Europe and the UK.

You’ll report to the People Director and lead a Senior People Partner, with a focus on Engineering and the tech portfolio, driving growth, retention and capability at scale.

Qualifications

• Senior HR partner with engineering organisations in scaling technology or fintech.
• Experience coaching HR business partners and raising standards.
• Led real org design: levelling, spans & layers; function redesign.
• Strategic and operational range: long-term org strategy and team-level work.
• Remote and global savvy: cross-cultural, multi-region experience.
• Strong business acumen linking people priorities to leadership outcomes.
• Autonomy at C-level.
• ER judgement across jurisdictions; UK/Europe exposure useful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead org design: workforce planning, levelling and team transformation.
• Own end-to-end Engineering and Product partnering for the tech portfolio.
• Coach and develop your direct report; set direction for the portfolio.
• Use people analytics with Centres of Excellence to inform capability, attrition and cost.
• Drive distributed team effectiveness in a multi-country, asynchronous environment.
• Handle complex employee relations for senior staff within the portfolio.
