Job summary

TryHackMe Ltd is seeking an IT Manager to own and scale internal IT operations for a fully distributed, remote-first workforce. This hands-on role runs the IT infrastructure, security, systems and tooling to enable teams to work securely, reliably and cost-effectively.

You'll partner with People, Finance, Security and department leads to ensure technology scales with the business, while embracing simple, fast solutions and automation where possible.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in IT management, IT operations or systems administration.
• Experience with Google Workspace and business systems.
• Experience with MDM, SSO, IAM and identity/access management.
• Strong understanding of internal IT security and cybersecurity best practices.
• Experience supporting GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
• Experience implementing and automating IT workflows, particularly onboarding and offboarding.
• Experience managing IT vendors, SaaS contracts and technology budgets.
• Experience working in a remote‑first SaaS/technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and administer our Google Workspace environment, ensuring system integrity, availability and appropriate access.
• Own our internal IT infrastructure and business systems.
• Implement and manage a centralised software and licensing management solution.
• Own device procurement, lifecycle management and MDM, reducing unnecessary hardware and leasing costs.
• Ensure employees have the hardware, software and access they need to be productive from day one.
• Own internal IT security practices including SSO, MFA, IAM and access management.
• Design, implement and enforce controls across our systems, devices and employee accounts.
• Own our compliance programme end-to-end — GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 and other relevant standards — building the processes, evidence and audit trail from the ground up as we scale into new markets.
• Lead regular security reviews, access audits and risk assessments, and drive remediation of what they surface.
• Ensure joiner, mover and leaver processes meet a consistently high security standard, with no exceptions.
• Automate repetitive IT workflows, particularly onboarding, offboarding, access management and provisioning.
• Introduce and own an ITSM/helpdesk solution to manage and triage support requests.
• Look for opportunities to use AI and automation to reduce manual IT work.
• Improve the speed and quality of internal IT services without adding unnecessary process.
• Continuously identify opportunities to reduce SaaS, cloud, hardware and operational costs.
• Own our IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Ensure appropriate backup and recovery processes are in place.
• Identify critical systems and establish appropriate recovery procedures.
• Ensure the business can continue operating during significant IT outages or incidents.
• Own relationships with our SaaS, hardware, cloud and IT vendors.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure we're getting appropriate value from our technology spend.
• Maintain visibility of IT costs and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary expenditure.
• Evaluate new technologies and tools based on their ability to genuinely improve how we operate.
