Job summary

Carrington West are supporting a Midlands-based local authority to appoint a Development Management Planning Team Leader on an initial 6-month contract, with potential for rolling renewal and clear opportunities for progression within the service.

The post holder will line-manage a small team, have delegated authority for decisions on planning applications, and lead on identifying opportunities for service improvement, delivering these changes with the Development Manager and Head of Service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar position is required.
• Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline is beneficial.
• Eligibility for membership of RTPI is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and line manage a small team of planning staff.
• Make delegated decisions on planning applications.
• Identify service improvement opportunities and drive their implementation with the Development Manager and Head of Service.
