Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Liability Claims Handler to join its specialist Casualty Liability Team. You will manage a caseload of casualty and personal injury claims for public sector clients, guiding claims through to settlement.

The role requires solid knowledge of policy wordings, civil procedure rules and the ability to negotiate settlements, with remote or hybrid working options and a focus on delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Experience handling casualty/liability claims through to settlement.
• Ability to value injury losses and assess liability.
• Understanding of policy wordings and insurance market.
• Familiarity with civil procedure rules and the claims portal.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Proficiency with IT and multiple in-house systems.
• Insurance industry qualifications or working towards desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handle casualty/personal injury claims through to settlement.
• Verify policy cover/validity.
• Log and record all claims digitally.
• Investigate allocated claims and refer to field adjusters when needed.
• Gather evidence and determine actions for resolution.
• Make decisions on liability and negotiate settlements.
