Job summary

Health Partners in the UK is seeking a registered nurse to support the 24/7 medical advice line for rail clients. You will triage, screen and advise callers, escalating when required, with a focus on safety-critical roles and wellbeing.

The role is home-based with 12-hour shifts, covering days, nights, weekends and bank holidays, reporting to a Team Leader and collaborating with Senior Clinicians. NMC registration and 24/7 availability are essential.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience of telephone triage in a 24-hour environment using decision-support tools.
• Experience leading or supervising a call-based team is desirable.
• Strong clinical assessment and risk management skills with sound decision-making.
• Ability to stay calm, work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Answer and triage inbound calls using clinical protocols and decision-support tools.
• Screen calls for health concerns affecting fitness for work and escalate as needed.
• Provide telephone advice on work-related health concerns and wellbeing.
• Recognise emergencies and follow escalation protocols.
• Maintain accurate records and meet SLAs for response times.
• Make referrals into occupational health case management and follow up if needed.
• Maintain NMC registration, scope of practice, CPD and supervision.
• Uphold confidentiality under Data Protection Act and UK GDPR.
