Derbyshire County Council is seeking a Relief Library Assistant to work across Brimington, Old Whittington, Staveley and the Chesterfield cluster libraries.

You will create a friendly, welcoming environment, be a strong team player, and confidently promote our services while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced, customer‑focussed setting.

Evening and weekend work may be required; library work can be physically demanding, and there are no guaranteed hours.

Competenze

• Library experience is an advantage, but candidates with strong customer service are welcome.
• Able to create a friendly and welcoming environment for a diverse range of customers.
• Excellent at multi-tasking, efficient, able to work under pressure and independently if required.
• Confident in using IT; training will be provided on library systems.
