Job summary

Julia's House is seeking a dynamic Relief Assistant Shop Manager to support our retail team. Working closely with the Shop Manager, you will oversee well-presented shops, create a welcoming shopping environment and maximise sales while delivering excellent customer service.

You will cover multiple Julia's House shops during the week, deputise for the management team, engage with the community and volunteers, and ensure health and safety standards.

Job description

We are looking for a dynamic Relief Assistant Shop Manager to join our friendly retail team. Working in collaboration with the Shop Manager, this position will suit someone who is a retail expert, who has proven experience of creating a brilliant shopping environment and providing an excellent customer experience.

You will have experience of running a well-presented shop and with an eye for detail, will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and flair whilst helping to maximise the sales and profits.

You will need to be able to work unsupervised in a methodical and organised manner and be flexible to the needs of the charity.

This role requires you to cover different Julia’s House shops during your working week, where you will deputise in the absence of the regular Management team.

This position is suitable for someone who thrives off variety, who is adaptable and enjoys meeting new people.

As well as processing donations, engaging with the community, and delivering the highest standard of customer service, you will be involved in the management of our superstar volunteers.

The ability to plan, organise and communicate effectively, apply sound judgement and be able to work under pressure are key skills requirements of the role. Excellent people management skills, awareness of Health & Safety compliance and a full driving licence are essential.
