Job summary

Isabel Hospice is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for our Ware charity shop. You will work with the Shop Manager and volunteers to uphold high retail standards while supporting sustainable fashion. The role involves weekend work and an additional day, with shifts spread over two days each week.

You will help maximise income, deliver excellent customer service, and lead by example. The position offers a meaningful part-time role in a supportive charity environment.

Job description

Are you interested in sustainable fashion? We have an opportunity for a passionate, creative and sales motivated individual to help run our charity shop in Ware.

As the Assistant Shop Manager, you will be working directly with the Shop Manager and the team of incredible volunteers.

Each of our shops has its own unique personality, and you’ll play a key role in maintaining our strong reputation within the local community. Your work will help prevent reusable items from going to landfill, while also ensuring we can continue providing expert care to the people who need it most.

Our retail teams cover the needs of their stores by working on a rota basis. This is a 14-hour per week role, working every Sunday and one additional day, which may be a Saturday or a weekday. As such, the role requires weekend working and flexibility, with shifts scheduled across 2 days out of 7.

What will I be doing?

• Supporting the Shop Manager to maximise store income and profits by delivering exceptional retail standards
• Maintaining and promoting the highest standard of customer care
• Creating eye-catching displays and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shop
• Supporting the Shop Manager to engage and train volunteers to assist in the running of the shop
• Meeting gift aid conversion rates from people donating goods
• Support events held both in the shop (evenings) and the local community

What skills are you looking for?
