Job summary

Weetabix in Burton Latimer is seeking a Reliability Engineer to improve the reliability and performance of our manufacturing equipment, collaborating with Production, Engineering and Manufacturing colleagues. You will use data to identify opportunities, refine maintenance plans, and prevent problems before they happen, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable operations.

The role involves leading maintenance strategies, CBM/RCA activities and data-driven improvements, with a focus on long-term

Qualifications

• Understanding of equipment performance, failure analysis and asset lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of RCA, CBM, FMEA, RCM and Criticality Assessments.
• Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
• Experience supporting the introduction and commissioning of new equipment.
• Ability to translate operational and customer needs into reliability improvements.

Responsibilities

• Improve and standardise maintenance programme with Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Act as CMMS expert with data accuracy and reporting.
• Use KPIs to identify trends and improve asset reliability and maintenance performance.
• Support introduction and commissioning of new equipment (Early Equipment Management).
• Provide reliability input for projects focusing on safety and long-term performance.
• Lead Criticality Assessments and RBM/RCM activities.
• Facilitate RCA and drive maintenance improvements to boost performance while lowering costs.
• Ensure activities meet engineering standards and statutory requirements.

The Recipe

• Work with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve and standardise maintenance programme
• Act as a point of expertise for our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring accurate data, effective system use and clear maintenance performance reporting.
• Use maintenance data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and opportunities to improve asset reliability and maintenance performance.
• Support the introduction of new factory technology, including Condition Based Monitoring (CBM)
• Provide reliability expertise for engineering projects, helping ensure equipment is designed, introduced and maintained with safety, reliability and long-term performance in mind.
• Facilitate Criticality Assessments and Risk-Based Maintenance, using approaches such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM)
• Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Drive improvement opportunities that increase equipment performance and efficiency while reducing maintenance costs.
• Ensure maintenance and reliability activities meet relevant engineering standards and statutory requirements.

The Ingredients

Key Know How:

• Understanding of equipment performance, failure analysis and asset lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of maintenance approaches such as Root Cause Analysis, Condition-Based Monitoring, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Reliability-Centred Maintenance and Criticality Assessments.
• Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management System
• Experience supporting the introduction and commissioning of new equipment, ideally using Early Equipment Management or a similar approach.
• Ability to understand operational and customer needs and turn these into practical reliability improvements
