Job summary

Weetabix is seeking a Manufacturing Shift Manager to lead a 24/7 shift pattern within the Manufacturing department. You will ensure safe, efficient production, guide staff, and drive improvements across quality, delivery and cost metrics.

The role requires strong coaching and team leadership within a FMCG setting and compliance with food safety standards. Key responsibilities include KPI oversight, resource allocation, training, and reporting on shift performance to meet the production plan.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated coaching and facilitation skills.
• Proven track record managing large teams in FMCG/manufacturing.
• Experience with business improvement methodologies and tools.
• IOSH Managing Safely certification or willingness to pursue it.
• Aligns with Weetabix values and demonstrates curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee secure production workflow from materials receipt to finished product.
• Monitor KPI targets and ensure safety, quality, productivity and cost goals.
• Coach and develop team to meet objectives and maintain standards.
• Oversee training to maintain experienced staff within the team.
• Allocate resources to meet budgets and production goals.
• Report shift results and ensure delivery of the production plan.
• Drive continuous process improvements within cross-functional teams.

The Recipe (About the Role)

The role aims to oversee the secure production workflow, guiding materials from their arrival to the completion of finished products within the designated factory. You'll achieve this through strong team influence, ensuring that safety, quality, productivity, cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and staff morale meet key performance indicators.

• Ensure compliance with legal, food safety, health, safety, environmental, and people policies
• Oversee KPI targets and results for the factory
• Directly take care of and assist your team to meet objectives through coaching and adherence to standards
• Oversee training and development to maintain required experience within the team
• Effectively allocate resources to meet budget and production goals
• Report on shift results regularly and ensure delivery of the production plan
• Oversee improvement projects and encourage continuous process enhancement within cross-functional teams
• Accountable for team performance development through coaching and accountability measures

The Ingredients (What we need from you)

Key Know How

• Demonstrated expertise in successful facilitation and coaching
• Proven experience in high-level team management within a FMCG setting or a comparable industry, preferably with direct involvement in manufacturing
• Familiarity with business improvement methodologies and tools
• Possession of IOSH Managing Safely certification or a willingness to pursue it
• Alignment to Weetabix values
• Are always curious to finding new ways to do business!
• Have the aptitude to demonstrate how you keep up to date in your field of expertise

Desirable Skills

• Working knowledge of D365
• Level 3 Food Safety and HACCP
