Job summary

Weetabix is hiring a Production Operator for a 3 Month FTC at the Burton Latimer site. The role involves operating machinery safely within a manufacturing environment, following SOPs and health and safety policies.

You will work across areas of the factory as part of a multi-functional team, and may be required to work at other plants. You’ll participate in safety practices, risk assessments, and daily operations reviews while supporting continuous improvements.

• Manual Handling awareness
• Health and Safety awareness training

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery per SOP to ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety compliance.
• Provide constructive safety feedback among peers to encourage safe practices.
• Report hazards using the T-card system.
• Participate in Risk Assessment reviews as needed.
• Engage in Performance Management through Baton Handovers, Short Interval Control, Team Huddles and Daily Operations Reviews to improve KPIs.
• Assist in Root Cause Analysis and improvement projects to support growth initiatives.

Production Operator - 3 Month FTC

The purpose of this role is the effective, productive and safe operation of machinery within the factories ensuring that all Health and Safety policies, Food Safety compliance are followed in line with Standard Operating Procedures. This role will also involve working within a multi-functional team that will mean a requirement to work in all areas of the factory and may require work in other plants. This role should be considered as the first step in your career within Weetabix.

The Recipe (About the Role)

• Operate machinery per Standard Operating Procedures to ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety compliance
• Encourage safety practices by providing constructive feedback among peers
• Report hazards using the T-card system
• Participate in Risk Assessment reviews as needed
• Engage in Performance Management through participation in Baton Handovers, Short Interval Control, Team Huddles, and Daily Operations Reviews to improve team KPIs
• Support Fuel for Growth initiatives through Root Cause Analysis and improvement projects
• Complete basic machine setup and maintenance after trainingUtilise basic computer skills, including Office and real-time data capture tools
• Adhere to 5S principles and participate in factory audits
