Job summary

A national forestry agency in Scotland seeks a knowledgeable Regulations Manager to provide expert advice on felling and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) regulations. Organisation: Scottish Forestry is the Scottish Government agency responsible for regulating forestry activity, policy, and grants. We’re looking for a knowledgeable Regulations Manager to lead on the delivery of felling and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) regulations, supporting Conservancy offices across Scotland.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on felling and EIA regulations.
  • Update guidance and support complex cases to ensure consistent regulatory delivery aligned with Scotland’s Forest Strategy.
  • Contribute to staff training and the development of IT systems that support regulatory work.
  • Lead in delivering regulatory activities and collaborating with Conservancy offices across Scotland.
Qualifications
  • Experience with felling and EIA regulations.
  • Good understanding of the UK Forestry Standard.
  • Relevant qualification in forestry or land management.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office packages.
