Join to apply for the Registered Nurse Team Lead role at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for a Band 6 nurse to join one of our Community Nursing teams based in ABC PCN (Maidstone), to support the development of this service. The service operates seven days a week from 08:00 - 16:00, with occasional late shifts of 10:00 – 18:00 on a rotational basis. Weekend working is generally on a 1:4 ratio with days off during the week.

The team support patients registered with GP practices working in the Maidstone town and outlying villages within the ABC Primary Care Network. Each team has two senior nurses to take responsibility for a defined geographical area, and provide clinical leadership to their Band 5, Band 4 and Band 3 staff. The team will work together to manage caseload patients delivering a high-quality service.

Candidates will be expected to be experienced nurses with relevant transferrable clinical skills.

Preference will be given to those who hold the District Nurse qualification, however candidates wanting to move to a community setting with advanced clinical skills or expertise will be considered. KCHFT is keen to support development and therefore, candidates without the specialist qualification or having a recognised advanced clinical skills/module will be considered for trainee posts.

Using the named nurse model, we want to allow nurses to spend more time with patients, promoting self-management where possible, and improving patient lives.

Staff will be required to drive their own car and are able to claim mileage costs and access the NHS car lease provision, following their probationary period.

Together we can empower you to really make a difference to patients’ lives. The very different world we are living in at the moment has given us the opportunity to rethink how we provide our services here at KCHFT.

You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team, gaining valuable work experience and continuing to get paid. Once you receive the qualification you will automatically move into the position advertised.
