Job summary

The Oaks, a 71-bed nursing and dementia specialist home in Rubery, Birmingham, seeks a Qualified Registered Nurse for flexible bank hours to cover annual leave and sickness. You will lead by example, support the team, and administer medications while coordinating with GPs and families.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience within a similar environment desirable.
• Valid NMC Pin with no restrictions.
• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and internal systems.
• Able to work collaboratively in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the management team and ensure smooth shift handovers.
• Ensure residents are supported and enabled in their daily activities.
• Represent the home with a professional, welcoming presence for residents and visitors.
• Liaise with GPs and multi-disciplinary colleagues to promote high-quality care.
• Undertake additional duties as requested by the Home Manager.

Role Overview

You will provide comfort to those that need it most, liaise with external departments, families, team members and management. Responsibilities and Duties

• Collaborate with the management team and make sure that all relevant information is handed over at the change of shifts
• Ensure each person who lives in the home is supported, and enabled the person’s way – every day
• Represent The Oaks brand by maintaining a professional and welcoming presence for all team members, residents, and visitors.
• To liaise with people who live and work in the home along with, GPs’ and other multi-disciplinary team members to promote excellent care
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Home Manager to support the overall functioning of the home.

Skills, Qualifications and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience within a similar environment desirable

• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and internal applications; with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.
