Job summary

The Oaks Care Home in Rubery, Birmingham, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant (Team Leader) for night shifts (8pm–8am). The role leads a care team and ensures safe, high-quality care for residents at The Oaks, a modern 71-bed home opened in 2023.

Salary ranges £30,088–£33,519 (pro rata) depending on experience. Join a supportive, people-focused team with opportunities for development and a strong focus on resident wellbeing and family-style care.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience within a similar environment desirable.
• Flexible, patient, with a ‘can do’ caring attitude, and a real 'people person'.
• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and internal applications; ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• To professionally lead the care team at all times to ensure a safe, effective and well led care provision is maintained.
• Support the people in the home to achieve the outcomes they wish to achieve – through an enabling and supportive approach
• Represent the The Oaks brand by maintaining a professional and welcoming presence for all team members, residents, and visitors.
• Attend and actively contribute to team meetings.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Home Manager to support the overall functioning of the home.
