There has never been a more exciting time to come and join the vibrant Jenny Lind Children's Hospital team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.With our recently approved aspirational Children's Strategy and being one of the largest Children's units in the Eastern Region, we are continually seeking to improve and expand our existing services.

We have a wide variety of nursing staff from our paediatric specialist nursing and day ward team to our nurses working in children's urgent and emergency care and in our level 2 HDU and inpatient areas.

Training opportunities include triage skills, advanced life support, paediatric HDU at level 1 and 2, ECG's, venepuncture and cannulation, blood gases and chemotherapy administration.

Main duties of the job

Our Jenny Lind Children's Hospital incorporates Children's Inpatient, Ambulatory, Emergency, Neonatal and Outpatient care. We treat children and young people across a broad range of specialties including Paediatric Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, plastics and much more. We also have a dedicated Surgical and medical HDU. Our collaborative team care for children living in Norfolk and for those accessing specialist treatments across the Eastern Region. We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled.

We currently have positions within Buxton, our paediatric inpatient ward with 33 inpatient beds including a 6 bedded level 2 high dependency unit, which cares for children from all medical and surgical specialities from birth to 16 years. We also have a position within our Children's Assessment Unit. CAU has 22 beds, including side rooms and an enhanced care bay and operates 24 hours a day around the year. We care for children who are acutely unwell, and our aim is to assess and plan effective care interventions to support their recovery.

We cross work between departments when necessary to improve our skills and form part of the larger Jenny Lind Children's Hospital team. As part of your role, you will be working in a team of Nurses, Doctors, Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioners, Healthcare Assistants and Play Specialists to provide high quality care for our patients.
